Glasgow men "buy biggest condoms"

We recently reported that Glasgow was claimed to be "the laziest city" in Britain (click here for the story) - just the latest in a string of bad health news for Scotland's largest city.

But a new report from supermarket giant Tesco should put a smile on the faces of all Glaswegian men (if not their partners!) - sales of a new extra-large condom are at their highest in the city.

Every little helps

The new condoms are 10mm longer and 1mm wider than the standard version and made by Durex. They went on sale earlier this month and the retailer has published a list of sales by location.

The top ten by sales are:

1. Glasgow
2. Cambridge
3. Manchester
4. Cardiff
5. New Malden
6. Bristol
7. Edinburgh
8. Hatfield
9. Chester
10. Sandhurst

Nicola Evans, Tesco's healthcare buyer, said: "Demand for extra-large condoms has been a success, especially in Scotland."

Of course, it may just be that the men in Glasgow are too embarrassed to ask for smaller sizes!
