Most people in the UK don't have the first aid know-how to save a life
Around five million people in the UK are involved in accidents each year. Yet a recent survey revealed that nearly six out of ten of us don't have the confidence to try to save someone's life. In fact, a quarter of us would do nothing but hope that someone else knows their first aid.
First Aid is the skills needed to treat or keep someone alive in the time before the emergency services arrive and take over. In a medical emergency, having a knowledge of first aid can save someone's life.
We have put together ten essential first aid tips for use in an emergency. They're not meant to take the place of medical advice or a first aid course. But knowing them may just save someone's life.
