Happy 60th Birthday to the NHS
The NHS will be 60 years on 5th July 2008. The NHS was established by the post-war Labour government to provide universal health care free at the point of use, possibly the single biggest positive change ever made by any government anywhere.Those of us old enough to remember life before the birth of the NHS are probably the only ones to truly understand the impact of this change. So here's to many more years.
