National Eye Week 2006
The Eyecare Trust and HealthSure, one of the UK's leading healthcare cash plan providers, have teamed up to promote the benefits of caring for your sight during National Eye Week 11 - 17 September 2006.You may not know this, but a simple eye test can not only check your eyes, it could save your life!
Your eyes may be the windows of your soul, but they can also let your optician "see" into your body as well! From diabetes to high blood pressure, simple eye tests and checks can reveal important information about your health.
During National Eye Week I operated a free health clinic on the South Bank for ITV's This Morning, where people could get their eyes tested.
For people who can't get out of the house, a company called The Outside Clinic specialize in providing a full eye care service in-home. Please see http://www.outsideclinic.com for more information.
National Eye Week is working to inform and educate the general public about these issues.
More information can be found at http://www.nationaleyeweek.co.uk
