Asymmetry Get it checked by your GP

Any moles which are asymmetric in shape should be seen by your GP.

When looking at a mole, both halves should be equal in size.

Risk factors

Anyone can develop melanoma. However you are more at risk if you have fair skin that freckles easily, have a lot of moles, use sunbeds, particularly before the age of 30, have a history of sunburn or a family member with skin cancer.
