Introduction – those early, crazy days of daytime television
I wrote this ‘Fat Farewell Diet’ during the early days of This Morning programme, actually in 1989. In those early days, all of us working on the show, were totally naïve, but were all totally fired up to make this new type of mid-morning programme a huge success. Never before had a national TV programme been commissioned to produce 2 hours of non-stop television, for every morning from Monday to Friday, every single day of the week. Most TV programmes were only 30 minutes long, and to produce 2 hours of non-stop television, five days a week was indeed a gargantuan challenge.
Well, we got stuck in then and now 18 years later the show has become the flagship programme for ITV’s daytime programming.
In those early day’s of the late 1980’s, the editor of This Morning, asked me to write a simple diet/weight loss plan for our viewers, so I spent a whole weekend locked away in my office analysing all of the diets out there! I did this and with the aim of producing a simple easy to follow diet and I came up with the ‘Fat Farewell Plan’.
150,000 VIEWERS SENT IN FOR THIS WEIGHT LOSS PLAN!
The Fat Farewell Plan.
So here it is – it’s simple to follow and the results are dramatic.
The Fat Farewell Plan provides guidance in three important areas:
- What to eat.
- How to eat.
- Exercise.
